Today we sat down with Weena for a quick Q&A about the key features of threading. A number of our customers have asked us about what this actually involves, so we decided to cover the main questions and concerns that people have.
What is threading?
Threading is a natural hair removal technique that has been used for centuries (potentially over millennia!) by various Middle Eastern and South-East Asian cultures. In modern times, it is typically used for facial hair removal and has gained in popularity due to its being a natural and gentle form of hair removal (only involving cotton thread and a therapist), with minimal side effects.
How does threading benefit the skin?
Once the hair is removed, threading cleanses and reduces the size of your pores, enhances skin rejuvenation and leaves a lovely, smooth feeling on the skin.
Is threading painful?
This will vary from person to person. If you have dense or coarse hair, you may feel mild pain. Many of our clients, after undergoing a few treatments, find that the pain lessens gradually. Additionally, we have various techniques to alleviate any pain.
Does the hair grow out again?
Being a natural method of hair removal, threading is not a permanent solution and hair does grow out. However, unlike with laser and electrolysis, it makes pores smaller. This means that, after a few sessions, the hair thins down and the number of hairs will reduce.
Is there anything else we should be aware of?
For those with allergies or sensitive skin, your skin may redden a little. However, this redness naturally subsides with time (and you can accelerate the process by cooling the skin).
Once you've shaped your brows impeccably, you can add further definition by getting a henna treatment.
